I just realized of whom the Master’s new hairstyle reminded me.

I mean yeah - Lucy has that little knot strictly on the back of her head, while Missy’s goes further and also her hair is a bit wilder after she took off the hat - but Lucy had that hair quiff as well, when she wore her hair open in Last Of The Time Lords. Also they both have them slightly parted behind their ears, no fringe, and the knot. So we basically get two of Lucy’s hairstyles combined in one. (Although mostly the first.)

So right now I’m thinking that just might be the first time the Master had to do a typical “early 21st Century-Earth-Women”-hairstyle and remembered the one she saw Lucy do for over two years every morning. Of course adding her own touch after some practice - like the wilder quiff or the more elaborate knot.

The Eighth Doctor gets damaged a lot in the novels and I always picture him trying to reassure Sam afterwards. Badly. And over time she just sort of gets used to it.

Books:

(And I also picture his hair getting longer with every novel because why not.)

#i didn’t know eight missed a front tooth - that’s interesting and sort of cute

he does grow his tooth back, though! he does look really cute here with his missing tooth, but yeah, in seeing i, we find out it grew back.

Over the next few days, they had both spent the time recovering from the adventure. He had healed so quickly, the flesh coming back to his face, the new tooth growing, the gleam coming back into his eyes. (Seeing I)

which does leave about eight books in between during which sharp-eyed readers would rightly picture him with an ADORABLE MISSING TOOTH, only to discover that apparently they were wrong the entire time and it grew back between genocide and the one after that

honestly i think the EDAs pretty much had to establish that the doctor has a near-perfect superhuman healing factor just so the writers wouldn’t have to keep track of how much the other writers had whumped him

Aw, that’s disappointing. In a fit of inspiration, I just added a mention of the Doctor missing a tooth during the Earth arc, and not remembering how he’d lost it. (Can I keep it anyway? Can we say that the Doctor lost a tooth at another point too?)

But yes, you’re right that Eight does need to be very good at healing, considering how he keeps getting treated.

Thanks for answering!

Evidence for non-binary Doctor - requested by solo-by-choice (based on)

Let me also add two Third Doctor examples:

In the Daemons, the Doctor gets called ‘dear chap’ and objects: 'I, sir, am no kind of chap.'

In The Three Doctors, when Omega is presented with the Doctor, Jo and a male scientist, he tells his minions: 'Take away the man and the girl’, and they lead away the two humans. Omega doesn’t have to specify “man”, meaning that there’s only one of them there, and it’s not the Doctor.
