Two Interventionists call the Doctor an Otherfucker.

…they really don’t realise that doing so would imply masturbation.

I’m reading this at the moment, and haven’t reached this bit, but I’m looking forward to it. (At one point in The Shadows of Avalon, though, the Doctor thinks “Thank the Other”, which is a bit weird… “Good job, me.”)

You know, in Trading Futures, Anji calls the Doctor a “useless otterfu—” and I think there’s some connection. Because there’s really no reason otherwise that she’d choose to accuse him of shagging otters specifically.

I mean, obviously she doesn’t know about any legendary figures of his planet’s past which depending on the canon you go by he may or may not be the reincarnation of, but I guess it’s the writer’s little joke.

I thought of this too. It must be a reference to that.

I finally got hold of a copy of The Gallifrey Chronicles. Eighteen pages in, my reaction is already ‘omgomgomgomg pleasedon'tdie Fitzyouidiotdon'tleavetheDoctor ohthisisgoingtobeamazing’. When I’m excited my brain doesn’t use spaces, apparently.

I like the novels, you never get to spend twenty minutes describing Eight making breakfast and being an adorable host humming impossible operas from the future in the audios. the pacing is far slower but you get to pick up many more little details and flavours in the books

This is what I love above everything else in the books. It’s like spending time with the characters, not just watching them have (awesome) adventures.

“ Such a cute picture!
“Ha ha, I feel so silly. I tried to knit you a sweater and it turned into a monster instead!”
“Ha ha, oh well, these things happen. It’s the thought that counts!” ”
