Reading nostalgia’s fics has got me thinking about Miles/Julian. Snippet from my brain that may or may not turn into anything:
Ezri was standing on her head. She claimed it helped the spacesickness. Julian wasn’t sure there was a medical explanation behind that, but he didn’t question it. Sometimes the distance helped. When they sat right next to each other, he felt a pressure he chose not to examine too closely.
“Why do you think you tried so hard to have sex with Miles?” she asked. Her voice was calm, reasonable. That bothered him a little more than he cared to admit; she was never jealous, only curious. (Of course, there was nothing to be jealous of. Miles was loyal to Keiko and whatever drunken fooling around they achieved in the night was gone the next day, the only sign of it the patchy flush on Miles’ neck when he said gruffly he didn’t know what Julian was talking about, he had drunk too much and didn’t remember.)
“We’re not in therapy,” Julian reminded her. “We’re having cocktails.” Sometimes she could not turn off the counselor.
“Cocktails seems like a good time to talk about it.” She might have shrugged, if it weren’t for the headstand. “Don’t you ever wonder why you can’t have friends without sleeping with them?”
Julian wished he had put his shirt back on before pouring drinks. This wasn’t a conversation he wanted to have half-nude.
Besides, the answer was no, he didn’t wonder. He was young, he had a healthy libido, and that was as far into thinking about it as he cared to go.
