Fanart for Kate Orman’s Doctor Who book, The Year of Intelligent Tigers. Because it includes four of my favourite things. The Eighth Doctor, tigers, storms and classical music.
Kate Orman is a great writer.

When I am upset about things, I think of Eight. It makes everything a little better.
The Eighth Doctor’s tendency towards amnesia has (for good reasons) become a bit of a running joke - I’ve lost count how many times he loses his memory in the audios and the novels (and I haven’t heard and read everything there is, and have not read any of the comics) But I was thinking - it’s…
headcanon accept. if i ask nicely (beg on my knees and promise you art), would you consider writing fic? because i adore your fic.
<3 You make me really happy by saying that. I would love to write something about this, actually, even if I didn’t consider it at all when making that first post. I’ve got several EDA fics on the way (one with Vastra and Jenny, and one set during the Earth Arc in the 1910s, and one with Grace…), so I’d need to get one or two of those out of the way first, but I’ll definitively try to write something.

Gallifrey Chronicles by Lance Parkin :)
Thanks! I’ve been really afraid of reading that, because I’ve heard some bad things about it (and Fitz and the Doctor fighting - eep) but this makes me feel much more hopeful.
Lance Parkin is always an eh author as far as the books go and some of the stuff didn’t make a lot of sense but, i’d been dreading it as well and it wasn’t all that bad? Apart from Trix and Fitz fucking for no reason which i kind of head tilted at.
I have trouble with Lance Parkin, mostly because of the whole Eight-as-a-Thatcherite thing in Father Time. I think I’ve gotten over that now, more or less, and I should give him another try. I suppose I’m just afraid that the grand finale won’t be a grand as I want it to be, and I don’t want anything to challenge my Fitz headcanons (mostly those with the Time War). But hey, Roman orgies. It sounds like my kind of thing (because of the Rome part, especially).

The anaesthetic nearly destroyed the regenerative process.” What if that’s the reason for all the other instances of amnesia as well? Perhaps something really did go wrong when he regenerated, and he has some kind of brain-damage which makes him prone to amnesia.

Ditto the Eighth Doctor Adventures and Past Doctor Adventures
They’ve released some of the EDAs for the Kindle, and I heard something vague that there might be plans to do a print on demand-thing (although I don’t have a source for that). It would be wonderful if they did reprint them. But if they did I’d need to get many more bookshelves…
Does anyone else remember Sabbath and the Council of Eight?
I’m still reading through the Sabbath Arc, so I haven’t gotten to the Council of Eight yet, but Sabbath is so incredibly cool. He is quite possibly my favourite Doctor Who villain/rival.
