I seem to always write “there isn’t enough fic” in the author’s notes when I post EDA fic. I’m going to stop doing that, because it’s getting tedious, but I want it to be said:
There is too little EDA fic. There are so many underappreciated pairings. There are so many missing scenes that should be written. There are so many unexplored possibilities.
And now I’m going to go and finish some EDA fic.
"There, waiting patiently, were the two men Hansson had been talking about. The one on the left was tall and gangly, clad in a loose white shirt. His face was sullen and distrustful. A student, maybe from Uppsala, down for the holidays like the Bergman girl and her unfortunate fiancé? There was something odd about him, as though he were deliberately following the fashion of twenty-odd years ago.
His companion was sporting an even stranger get-up, his clothes seemingly aping the style fashionable Stockholmers were wearing at around the turn of the century. He had the face and attitude of a film star: wide blue eyes alive with intelligence, an aquiline nose and a sensitive mouth."

I love this bit for several reasons. One - this constant reminder of how good-looking Eight is. Guess what, he’s still gorgeous, dear reader! In case it slipped your mind. Two - Fitz’s anachronistic clothes. If one didn’t sit down to think about it, I think you wouldn’t necessarily think that someone dressing like in the 1960s would look out of place in the 190s (because there are worse things - like dressing like Oscar Wilde in, well, any time at all, including the 1880s/90s), but I think it would be noticed. Three - Uppsala. Being Swedish originally, I think it’s hilarious with an EDA set in Sweden, and the way Uppsala is constantly dropped in as if it’s the only university in this part of Sweden. It’s the big, old one, but, well, not the only one.

I just finished reading Revolution Man, which I really enjoyed (in the way you enjoy things where all your favourite characters are made to do horrible things), but now I need fic. Specifically, reconciliation fic. Any recs?
"He had too many memories, he decided. They overwhelmed him, forcibly taking him away from the present, immersing him in the past. He tried not to show it, for Sam’s sake, because she would worry and wonder if something was wrong – and be was sure that there was nothing she could do to help. There was nothing anyone could do. It was just middle age."

Well, you usually fix the problem of “too many memories”, don’t you, Eight?
frazerhines:

Perfectly natural! And you will love him even more when you’ve read him.

Author’s notes This fic was written with dangerous amounts of Mozart in my system. Also, the foe yay in the EDAs deserve much much more fic.
