Well, it looks like that Eight/Fitz Time War fic I started writing a fortnight ago will be multi-chapter. Not as long as my long fics usually are (mercifully - that much Time War would not be healthy for anyone), but longer than I first thought it would be.

And to make all the angst in it to deal with, I’m also writing fluffy early Eight/Fitz, with awkward but cute dates and historical settings and tailcoats, because nothing could be less like the Time War.

That impassioned explanation of how great the EDAs might have been helped by the fact that someone just adviced a friend of mine not to “suffer through” any of Classic Who, but just watch the new stuff, and that the film was the worst thing she’d ever seen. I managed not to answer without using swearwords, considering it was someone I didn’t know, in the comments on someone else’s facebook status, but gods, I wanted to tell her how she was wrong, why she was wrong and how it reflected on her character.

Having a late(ish) night writing session of Eight/Fitz Time War fic. It started out as a fairly short fic which I wrote over one day in early August, but I wasn’t completely happy with it, so I’ve been rethinking and rewriting bits of it, and now it looks like I’ll expand the bits which were just short flashbacks in the first draft, which should make it more balanced (and considerably longer).

I already feel like apologising for the body horror and the unhappy endings…

‘I said, where did you learn all that?’
She jumped. ‘All what?’
‘About the prophecy. What you told him in there.’
‘Oh, that. Babylon 5.’ He looked blank. ‘I pinched it from an episode I saw a while back.’
‘Oh.’ For a moment he looked relieved. ‘Never mind, then.’
‘Wait a minute –’

-Doctor Who Unnatural History (can’t remember the authors to lazy now blah)

But look. Sam made up a super ridiculous clichéy story about the doctor’s past/some prophecy bullshit under pressure and IT WAS ACCIDENTALLY (maybe) TRUE. These books I swear…

#I’m growing really fond of his numbered system of usual manouvers with his companions#find myself wishing they’d use that in the tv series#somehow I can really imagine eleven frantically shouting NUMBER 27 NUMBER 27#and running around like a panicked giraffe with his confused companions in tow

Eleven using the number system would be excellent, and also incredibly confusing, because I’m sure he’d just swap the numbers around constantly, and forget if that specific manoeuvre was number 12 or number 21…

And Unnatural History’s awareness of the occasional silliness of canon is wonderful.

Its not finished, but I wont be able to finish it before I go on holiday, so here’s the skeleton of the last page of the Fitz comic. This is set between the Turing Test and Endgame, so its in the era when the Dr has no memory.

YESYESYES! I’ve wanted something with amnesiac!Eight meaning tiny Fitz for so long. Oooh, this is brilliant.

I’m now reading Frontier Worlds. Halfway through, the Doctor has managed to get bruised, shot, taken prisoner, and subsequently stripped naked and strapped to a metal chair.

At least he hasn’t lost his memory in this one.

Someone made an action theme for the Eighth Doctor and… yup.
