tlpursuit:

After the statement by JKR yesterday, J-dawg text me a little scene that could have happened between Hermione and Ron. I changed it a little bit, but I scribbled it out this afternoon.

I finally coloured the redesigned Sirius Black pic. I think I like this new look, so I guess I’lldraw him like this from now on.

ladyremus:

think about remus when he hears the account of how sirius just laughs when he’s dragged to prison, doesn’t even protest, just laughs
because of course sirius black can’t even commit murder like anyone else would, why would he, of course he had to have the last laugh even then.

Sorry to be picky, but Remus does in fact not mean ‘swiftness’. In Latin, remus with a long vowel means 'oar’, which I suppose this is in reference to, even if 'swiftness’ is never a secondary meaning of it. However, the name Remus, that of Rhea Silvia’s son and Romulus’ brother, has a short vowel in Latin, so they’re not in fact the same word, even if they are written in the same way. It’s also worth mentioning that Hermione is derived from the name of the Greek god Hermes. I’d be interested to hear where the 'earthy’ connection is, because I can’t think of one.

Grumpy Classicist out. (With a PS that I still like these gifs.)
