HPShipweeks : Week 3 - Molly/Arthur
Molly and Arthur early in their marriage. Their love for each other is the absolute cutest. (Arthur couldn’t afford to buy flowers, so he picked them)
I love this!!

“This is infuriating. I’m not going to dress it up; I’m angry. And not just because I don’t agree with this tidbit, thank you, and I’d rather not accept it as canon — I’m angry because, in making Remus Lupin a straight character, Rowling has co-opted a disease and erased the turbulent, troubling and very much queer history of it for, seemingly, no apparent reason.”In which someone articulates the argument I just made about Remus Lupin being a metaphor for AIDS in a way that is much more in depth and well articulated
This is a really excellent article, and makes me both really happy (because it’s been written) and really angry (because it had to be written). I’m quite bothered by the weight given to Rowling’s authorial intent, which has to do with how I view literature and the nature of canon, but some things bother me more than others, like this. This article articulates it very well.

“Imagine that Voldemort’s powerful now. You don’t know who his supporters are, you don’t know who’s working for him and who isn’t; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able to stop themselves. You’re scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing…The Ministry of Magic’s in disarray, they don’t know what to do, they’re trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. Terror everywhere…panic…confusion…that’s how it used to be.” - Sirius Black, Goblet of Fire
