Teenager James T. Kirk and Kodos, TOS: “The Conscience of the King”

In 2246, an exotic fungus destroyed most of the colony’s food supply, leaving the eight thousand colonists in serious danger of starvation. Governor Kodos made a drastic decision: he ordered the deaths of four thousand colonists, so that the other four thousand might live, selecting those to be killed according to his personal theories of eugenics. Earth forces arrived earlier than expected, but too late to save the four thousand people Kodos murdered.

Ask Jim Kirk about his feminist agenda

(via barelyciceronian)

It’s fic rec time! This fic is about medical ethics, mental illness and friendship. It is one of the most fantastic things I have read for a long time. It has Spock trying to figure things out, McCoy being angry and protective, Kirk being the most lovely person in the universe to his friends. Go read it.

listen to this song

and imagine oms, long into retirement, cuddling together in bed on a snowy night, content just to be with one another

imagine how bright jim’s eyes would be that night as he put his palm on spock’s cheek and gives him a chaste kiss

imagine how they would fall asleep entangled in each other

imagine how the next morning spock wakes up and jim doesn’t

imagine spock clutching jim’s newly lifeless body to his own, his hand clasped to the back of his neck as he presses his forehead against jim’s and lets out a dry sob

imagine that it’s a bright dawn outside with freshly fallen snow because even though spock’s world just ended, everything else goes on

"Kirk sighed and reached out to cover the Vulcan’s hand with his own. Men like Spock weren’t standard issue. ‘Thanks, Spock,’ he murmured. ‘I don’t know what the hell I’d do without you.’"

— let’s play is it fanfic or a published book (via thealternativeisburning)
