There’s a part in the baseball episode where Sisko says everyone there (Jake, Nog, Rom, Quark, Leeta, Kira, Bashir, Ezri, Worf, Miles) has seen at least one baseball game with him before and just sayin, I would’ve loved to see an episode that was just Sisko bringing the crew out and introducing them to hotdogs and dip n dots and foam fingers and all that
Also between inning stunts and mini games? Can you imagine if they did those in the game against the Logicians. Like Miles and Julian teamed up in a wheelbarrow race? Or Worf fighting a ring match in a bumper ball?
The first time, Miles is the wheelbarrow. His shoulder jumps out of its socket.
i am feeling so fucked up about julian bashir. victim of abuse for most of his formative years. his parents literally changed him at the genetic level because they couldn’t stand who he was. he was really so young when he came to deep space nine. nobody really likes him. he’s insufferable and he knows it. auauauuauuuguguhhghghhhhh
HE LOOKS LIKE THIS IN EPISODE 1 IDK WHY I’M EMOTIONAL RIGHT NOW
@sigynpenniman what is today? it’s thinking about Julian Bashir and wishing him better day as always!
So I watched Empok Nor this evening, and perhaps this is just the sleep deprivation talking, but I do wonder exactly how much of the animosity and needling we see at the beginning is because Garak is jealous of O'Brien’s friendship with Bashir.
This entire scene whilst they are on the way to Empok Nor could easily read that way:
GARAK: I see. So when you and Doctor Bashir go into the holosuites for hours at a time you’re just repairing them?
O'BRIEN: What’s your point, Garak?
GARAK: I’m just curious. Why do you and Doctor Bashir spend hours in the holosuites dressed as fighter pilots, reliving ancient battles?
O'BRIEN: We do it for fun. It’s a game.
GARAK: So is Kotra. And I’d love nothing more than to play against a man like you.
Bringing up Dr Bashir unprompted whilst trying to push O'Brien into a game of Kotra - a game of strategy and confrontation - does rather seem to suggest that there may be more to this than meets the eye. At least on Garak’s part.
Cecil. She/her. During the day I sit in libraries staring at books. During the night I write queer fanfiction with a historical slant.
Some not-so-random facts: Gay space lizards are the best lizards. Star Trek is my life. I have too many DS9 ships. Classic Who and the Eighth Doctor Adventures make me grin stupidly. Kelas Parmak is the best. I will defend historically accurate portrayals of Alan Turing to the last drop of blood.
