For @calliatra for @fandomtrumpshate

Happy Valentine’s Day, I bear headcanons. Spock and Kirk, after retirement. They have an interview together because they’re famous starship captains, but Spock prefers to be known as the First Officer. They’re both past caring about decorum, so they show up dressed in civilian clothes. Kirk’s dug out his old green shirt and a jacket with a vintage NASA pin. Spock is bundled up. They’ve got a ton of in-jokes; the interviewer is bemused but entirely delighted over how affectionate they are. The vulcans are no longer scandalized—“It’s that science genius with his human again.”

a little kirk/spock ficlet, read it on ao3 here!

The first thing Spock notices when he wakes up is how warm he is.

The second is that the warmth is emanating from the very human body curled up around his side.

oh god i was just imagining jim and spocks first kiss and im honestly blacking out like …….. it’s clumsy and soft and electric and spocks stumbling back into their chess table, gripping the edge, and jim is just beaming into spocks mouth as they kiss over and over again, always coming back for more, and he’s got his hands up on spocks face, tracing over blushing skin and green tinted ears, reveling in the fact that he can do this now, he can touch and touch and touch, and spocks breath is short and he cant tell where jims bright happiness ends and his own begins and he doesnt ever want them to stop kissing and every time jim murmurs mr. spock into his mouth he feels as though his heart skips a few beats, however illogical that is, and theyre both just so impossibly soft and so so in love they couldnt even begin to contain it

reasons spock/kirk is legit canon

jcmeskirk:

jcmeskirk:

i’m not exaggerating. they were literally intended to be canon and here’s why

  • this quote from gene which is as good as it’s gonna get from the early 1980s. no matter how you spin it, he’s saying they were in love enough to have sex, but they didn’t suggest that in the series. after the five year mission? it never says. it’s from the authorized biography of william shatner.
  • they were canonically bonded. the source here is literally just downloading/buying the motion picture novel and finding the quote.
  • the infamous t’hy’la quote. and here’s a line by line analysis about why the footnote is literally answering nothing and also confirming that kirk isn’t straight if you want a source, again, just download/buy/rent the motion picture novel
  • this quote from william shatner’s novel, star trek: academy: collision course. which, again, just buy/download it for the source.
  • shatner adlibbed the line “Spock, it’s you. It’s always been you. Please say you love me too” during turnabout intruder, though it got cut (source)
  • this entire scene oh my god and this post quotes the novel counterpart to it. again, the sources would be the motion picture movie and novel
  • the above post quotes a lot of canon scenes from the motion picture novel. even if you want to ignore the analysis on it, there’s some really obvious ones. source is still the tmp novel.
  • theodore sturgeon, the man who helped write amok time, was known for putting gay subtext in his science fiction works, some of which were really similar to kirk and spock. (source)
  • william shatner liked a tweet thanking him for making kirk in love with spock in tos.
  • this quote from william shatner. (source)
  • this quote from gene roddenberry from the same above authorized biography of william shatner
  • while no longer canon canon, there’s the novel killing time. it’s still a fun read if you like kirk/spock, and just goes to show how popular the pairing was.
  • there are many, many hints in tos. i don’t have the time to sit here and type them all out. just watch the show, and they’re blatantly there. there’s also this analysis of each episode up until mid season two. get passed the 2009 speak and it’s pretty good at not embellishing but also not ignoring what is blatantly there.
  • this list is focused mainly on things that actors/writers have said because they aren’t open for interpretation whereas people grasp at straws when it comes to convincing themselves certain scenes are totally friendship. if i were to make a post of all the spirk moments in the original series/movies, it would stretch on for a long time. if anyone has any more to add from writers/actors/ect, or even moments from tos/the movies feel free :)
  • in conclusion: spirk is canon and if you want to argue until you’re blue in the face that we’re “reaching” and that all we want is our “white dick ship” then that’s your prerogative but realize you’re literally erasing a canon gay ship and accusing lgbt people of being bitter when all we want is acknowledgement in new canon  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
to add to this:
  • “I think if I had given Kirk and the others what I suspect 23rd century values and morals may actually be, they would have either angered or scared the pants off the average viewer” - Gene (source)

A little old thing I made. I had to. My hand slipped. I’m having way too much fun with video editing lately, star trek basically throws the gay material at you.
