Just finished reading Enigma Tales and while it is an absolutely banging read (the best Star Trek book I’ve read) I was left with a renewed Garashir hunger. I don’t know why the top half of Bashir’s onesie star fleet uniform is wrapped around his waist so that his upper body is exposed. Don’t ask me. (Probably working in a garden for Garak or something whombst to know)

“Garak it’s for fighting not for looks”

“Trust me my dear - battle is perhaps one of the most strategic moments to look ones best”

I love the fact that Cardassian democracy happened because of a bunch of queer middle-aged men.

Garak - queer af

Parmak - gay as a picnic basket

Alon Ghemor - canonically falls in love with men

Pythas Lok - Cardassian twink and everyone’s schoolboy crush

But also shout-out to my lesbian anarchist sisters Tekis and Erani.

Everyone should hear the good news of Kelas Parmak, non-binary dissident Cardassian doctor, kindest soul in the Union.

I just imagine one night Julian wakes up and sees Garak staring at him like a freaking cat.

With bonus reflective pupils because…

I’ve been trying to motivate myself to watch Voyager, and failing. It was the first Star Trek series I ever watched, at about eleven, but other ones soon eclipsed it. There are lots of things I remember not liking, and stuff that, when I’ve rewatched the occasional episode, hasn’t sat right with me, but I want to rewatch at least some of it, as I’m (hopefully) going to a con where Voyager is one of the themes.

So please give me your Voyager episode recommendations. Which are your favourites?

I few that I recall liking off of the top of my head would be “Message in a Bottle”, “The Thaw”, “Live Fast and Prosper”, “Threshold” (I know, but it’s fun to watch), “Living Witness”, “Blink of an Eye”, “Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy”, “Deadlock”, and “One Small Step”. I’m sure that there are plenty more that I’m forgetting.

Thanks! Great stuff.
